Description
This angler survey was conducted in 2020 on a stratified sample of resident and non-resident Colorado anglers who purchased licenses in 2019. A total of 6,000 questionnaires were mailed out to 4,151 Colorado residents and 1,849 non-residents. Of these, 1,284 respondents completed the mail-in survey and 361 respondents completed the survey online through Qualtrics, providing a total sample size of 1,645 anglers, and a response rate of 27.4%. Angler responses to the questionnaire were evaluated based on both residency and by angling frequency category. Of the license types available, 40% reported purchasing an annual resident license. Anglers fished an average of 16 days and took an average of 11 trips. Over 40% of anglers reported that they fished in a State Park in 2019, compared with the 2012 survey in which only 27.1% of anglers reported that they had fished at a State Park.
